“Wash”

“Wash” combined image and text which are created by 2 different sets of rule. Altogether it shows an ambiguous emotion. It belongs to a city, a female, Hong Kong or it belongs to everything yet nothing, or it is merely an expression of an individual.

Game itself is both the means and the end. The attitude of “just for fun” can free oneself from the reality. Using a self-defined and non- pragmatic rule to develop a work is more likely an inspiration than a restriction. Game is also a tough exercise to work against one’s weakness, fear, skepticism and non-attentiveness.

The rules of “Wash” are:
1. to materialize the light
2. to write down one happy thing each day
3. to combine the unrelated 1 (image) and 2 (text) into a unified whole.
